All The Things I Do Not Like About Tropical Freeze

The music. The level design. The fact that I have to play as Donkey Kong. That you have press select 3 times to get into a level. There is no SNES controller setup. Donkey Kong Island doesn’t look like Donkey Kong’s head. Rambi is the only Animal Buddy. No Take-Turn multiplayer. No K. Rool or Kremlings. That auto saves make lives pointless. You cannot skip checkpoints. The loading times for speed runs (the load times in general don’t bother me).  That the game doesn’t have this song. I have nothing good to spend my coins on. The secret areas are all the same. No Miiverse integration.

Episode 025 – Wii Play Catch

I want to apologize to all our listeners for our show taking a two month break. It wasn’t planned and unfortunately, couldn’t be helped. As always, thank you so much for continuing to listen. There were many games to discuss in this episode and felt good after a slow year. One of the games we discussed was Mario Kart 7 and the creation of the Wii Are Fanboys community. Above is the search code for our community. If you would like to download the show click HERE and I hope to race all of you soon.

What Is That?!

How arrogant of me. How utterly arrogant. All these years I had always assumed I knew mostly everything there was to ever know about the Nintendo Gameboy. I was wrong. About a month ago, I discovered a rare Gameboy peripheral that I’d never seen before or ever knew existed until now – the Konami Hyperboy. How could I have not known about this for all these years is beyond me. It’s a peripheral that was released by Konami in 1991 (never released in the US) that turns your Gameboy into a tabletop arcade. I had always viewed the Gameboy itself as a hybrid system; a cross between an NES and a Game & Watch. With this peripheral, it pushes the Gameboy more into the Game & Watch tabletop territory, which is what I love about it. This has got to be the coolest GameBoy peripheral ever made.

Where Did All The Arcades Go?

Adam and I have spoke of a mutual friend on numerous occasions on the show. Recently, he has expressed interest in writing on the site. This article posted below is his first effort of hopefully many. So it’s my pleasure to introduce all of our readers to Wii Are Fanboys’ newest contributor, Alan Chung!

Brad and Adam have been gracious enough to post a writeup from me on their wonderful Nintendo fansite. Since this is my first writeup, I thought that I would write about a subject that I’m truly passionate and knowledgeable about, The Arcade! Continue reading

I found this on the top floor of a bar in Rehobeth Beach Delaware. I only wish it was for sale.
